With independently programmable interface and probe temperature, the CDS Pyroprobe 2000 is capable of performing all the functions of the Pyroprobe 1000 and more. Model 2000 adds the ability to program at rates in degrees per millisecond, second, or minute, as low as 0.01░C/minute, and to create methods employing as many as five independent steps. This flexibility allows complete temperature control of the sample, including desorption, volatilization, and pyrolysis, for pulse or time-resolved experiments. Slow heating rates are ideal for thermal pyrolysis with continuous analysis by mass spectrometry or FT-IR. Applications Multiple step temperature programs permit such analysis as: ┐ Dynamic headspace and pyrolysis of polymers ┐ Sequential pyrolysis ┐ Analysis of geochemical samples for fuel potential ┐ Investigation of degradation mechanisms ┐ Outgassing and de-gassing studies Specifications ┐ Final Temperature: Programmable in 1░C increments to 1400░C ┐ Pyrolysis Times: Selectable to 1000 seconds in increments of 0.01 seconds or to 1000 minutes in intervals of 0.01 minutes ┐ Pyrolysis Rates: Pulse Mode- Settable from 0.01░C/ms to 20░C/ms (10░C/sec to 20,000░C/sec) Programmed Mode-0.01░C/min. to 1000░C/min. or 0.01░C/sec to 1000░C/sec ┐ Interface Temperature: Selectable from ambient to 350░C ┐ Three Modes of Operation: Run - (Pyrolysis) Dry - for removing solvents before pyrolysis (user selectable parameters) ┐ Clean - For removing residue between runs (user selectable parameters) ┐ Performs Multiple Steps: Up to 5 steps (initial temperature, ramp, and final temperature for both probe and interface programmable in each step) ┐ Probe and interface are individually programmable ┐ 9 methods of 5 steps each may be stored for later recall
